Day 226, Hebrews 13

Hebrews 13

We have reached the final chapter of Hebrews, and the final exhortations and greetings that typically conclude such a letter.

Why not read slowly through the assembled wisdom, and see what God highlights to you as you read? There are manifold insights here, and many of them are both counter-cultural and challenging to our ears today.

Above all, the example of Jesus shines supreme. We have read that He is superior to angels, Moses, the first covenant, the original priestly system, and every sacrifice beside His own. Thus He is the primary source of divine persuasion that fuels our faith, and our example for life.

Anything outside this (whether a theological fad or a supposed hidden teaching) is error if it distracts from Jesus - obedient, faithful, crucified, resurrected, and seated at God’s right hand.

“Now may the God who brought us peace by raising from the dead our Lord Jesus Christ so that he would be the Great Shepherd of his flock; and by the power of the blood of the eternal covenant may he work perfection into every part of you giving you all that you need to fulfill your destiny. And may he express through you all that is excellent and pleasing to him through your life-union with Jesus the Anointed One who is to receive all glory forever! Amen!”

Have a great day!

Mark.
